Pakistan is facing significant economic pressures due to rising inflation, a falling currency, and huge debts. Political tensions have also been increasing over the past few months, with various opposition parties protesting against the government for failing to deliver on its promise of better infrastructure, jobs, and living standards.
The meeting will mainly cover countermeasures to cope with terrorism via CTD, the Peshawar suicide bombing, and the falling economy. According to sources, the senior PTI leader Pervez Khattak is not aware of this meeting and has not received any invitation yet.
The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Inayatullah Khan also said that his party had not received any invitation. However, the Awami National Party (ANP) has confirmed that they have received an invite and the KP President Aimal Wali Khan will be attending the meeting.
