The police began arresting PTI workers.The police began detaining PTI workers who had arrived in the provincial capital for the event, escalating tensions. Workers were arrested around Mall Road, Dharmapura, and Zaman Park for violating Section 144.

Police also used water cannons to disperse the activists. A heavy contingent of police and anti-riot force was present on occasion. Containers and prisoner vans have been moved to the scene. Citizens were stranded on the streets. Pedestrians were seen crossing Canal Road through the pipes.
