The meteorological department has predicted rains across the country from tomorrow. PDMA has issued an alert and expressed the fear of flooding in the rivers. Chance of rain has been indicated in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, and Sialkot.
PDMA has said in its post that there is a risk of landslides due to expected rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, instructions have been issued to the administration and related institutions to ensure advance measures.
Farmers have been issued instructions asking farmers to make proper arrangements, there is fear of damage to crops due to strong winds, hailstorms, restrictions on movement, and unnecessary travel in rains, in case of emergency. Medical personnel have been asked to ensure availability, medical staff have also been asked to remain alert.
On the other hand, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz said that there is no danger of urban flooding and wrong news is being spread on social media.
Regarding the rain system, Sardar Sarfraz said that western winds will enter Sindh through Balochistan, while low pressure is present around Oman.
The chief meteorologist said that the southern district of Balochistan will experience thundershowers, and the rains will continue from April 28 to May 2.
He said that this series of rains will also enter Sindh, and there will be heavy and moderate rains in most districts of Sindh including Karachi. Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz said that fishermen have not been prohibited from going into the sea.
