Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandyal conducted an in-chamber hearing regarding the non-provision of funds in the Punjab elections case. The court summoned the Governor State Bank and the Secretary of Finance for the non-availability of funds for elections in Punjab.
Attorney General and Secretary Election Commission have also been directed to appear. Governor State Bank has also been ordered to bring all the details regarding available resources. The court has directed the Finance Secretary to bring the records while the Secretary Election Commission has also been ordered to provide all the records of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Before this chamber hearing, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Attorney General had a meeting in which they consulted on the hearing of the election case. Attorney General Mansoor Usman said in this regard that Parliament has stopped the government from releasing funds, and the federal government has no authority to release funds for elections.

The government position will be presented during the in-chamber hearing. It should be noted that the Ministry of Finance had waived the provision of funds for the Punjab elections.
