ISLAMABAD, Chairman NEPRA, while giving remarks during the hearing on the application related to electricity tariff, said that our job is to provide cheap and safe electricity to the people, but we failed to provide cheap electricity to the nation. According to the private TV channel Dunya News, a hearing was held in Nepra on Multan Electric Power Company’s request for a multi-air tariff.

During the hearing, Chairman NEPRA remarked that our job is to provide cheap and safe electricity to the people, but we failed to provide cheap electricity to the nation. Oil prices affect electricity rates, we have no control over the dollar and the price of imported oil.

Nepra officials said that it is becoming difficult for the consumers to pay the bill in the current situation, if the electricity tariff limit is not fixed, there will be a request to increase the tariff every time.
