The world has been attracted by OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot, but a more potent replacement may be on the way.
In the long run, OpenAi GPT-4, the next large-language model in the firm s GPT-series after GPT-3.5, which underpins ChatGPT, is expected next week.
According to Microsoft Germany’s CTO Andreas Braun, the announcement he made at an event on Thursday (March 9) meant that GPT-4 was coming around spring this year. There were prior reports that this would happen in March.
Microsoft has been an OpenAI partner since 2019 when it invested a billion dollars in the business, and it increased its stake in OpenAI’s AI lab by roughly a billion dollars in January, following the success of ChatGPT, the artificially intelligent chatbot that has captured the internet by storm since then.

Andreas Braun, CTO of Microsoft Germany, stated at a German event that the system’s arrival was imminent.
“We will introduce GPT-4 next week, there we will have multi-modal models that will offer completely different possibilities – for example, videos,” said Braun in comments first reported by German media outlet Heise.
A multi-modal LLM can obtain information from a wide range of sources. This could allow it to gather information from videos and images found on the internet. OpenAI’s current LLM, GPT-3.5, is entirely text-based.
Microsoft has already been experimenting with multi-modal AI models, and earlier this month revealed details of Kosmos-1, a model that can draw on text and image data.
The New York Times reported that GPT-4 is expected to be released in the Third week of March 2023.
The exact date is not announced yet but It will be released in the middle of 3rd week of march.
