Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who has been in self-imposed exile in London since November 2019 for medical reasons, recently performed Umrah with his family members in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Senior members of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) including Maryam Nawaz, the party’s Senior Vice President and Chief Organizer, her husband Captain (R) Safdar Awan, and other family members accompanied Sharif.
The Sharif family offered Umrah under tight security, with special guards providing protection during the Tawaaf of the Holy Ka’aba. They expressed gratitude to Allah for allowing them to perform Umrah and prayed for the development of their country.
