Due to limited imports of high-speed fuel availability, our country has been facing a fuel undersupply ahead of schedule.
All cities of Punjab, especially Lahore, Gujranwala, and Faisalabad stations, have already faced a bad fuel shortage situation.
Many fuel stations in Punjab’s major and smaller towns, notably Lahore, Gujranwala, and Faisalabad, have experienced it the worst, with limited to no availability of petrol for several weeks, most probably due to a restricted source from the oil marketing corporations (OMCs).

As per Pakistan Petroleum Retailers Associations Secretary Khawaja Atif, approximately 70 of the overall 450 stations in Lahore are empty, whereas 70 percent of the stations in Gujranwala are without petrol related to OMC shortages. According to Atif, stations in Faisalabad, Okara, Sahiwal, and other smaller cities last had fueled a few days ago.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Malik has denied claims of fuel scarcity, saying there is sufficient petrol and fuel for the upcoming 20 days. He threatened to suspend fuel retail operators’ licenses when they were found reducing fuel supplies.
The Oil Tankers Contractors Association (OTCA) has demanded an immediate meeting with the Petroleum Department to address the Oil Tankers Authority’s contribution to a White Oil Pipeline.
The meeting will take place today (8 February) to discuss the abovementioned topic.
