The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has yet to decide on the request to suspend the non-bailable arrest warrant of Imran Khan.
The warrant was issued due to the case involving his alleged threat toward female judge Zeba Chaudhry. The hearing for the warrant suspension request was presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Faizan Haider Gilani.
During the hearing at the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad, both Imran Khan’s lawyer Gohar Ali and prosecutor Rizwan Abbasi were present.
Gohar Ali made a plea stating that Imran Khan would appear before the court on March 30 and requested the court to schedule the hearing for the same day. He also informed the court that Imran Khan would appear in the Tosha Khana case on March 30.
However, the court expressed confusion over the plea and pointed out that the arrest warrant was issued for March 29. Gohar Ali then requested to change the warranted date from March 29 to March 30 in the civil court.

Lawyer Gohar Ali requested to suspend the non-bailable arrest warrant until March 30, as Imran Khan is scheduled to appear in court on that day for the Tosha Khana case.
However, the court pointed out that the arrest warrant was dated March 29 and questioned why they requested March 30. The prosecutor argued that the court should not hesitate to issue the arrest warrant and that the merits of the warrant suspension request should be argued.
He also added that Imran Khan was not a favorite of the court, despite being a high-profile figure. When asked if Imran Khan had ever appeared in the case related to the female judge, the prosecutor replied that he had not and that Gohar Ali did not even have a letter of attorney.
Gohar Ali pleaded that Imran Khan would appear in court on March 30 and requested to extend the suspension of the warrant till then. However, the court questioned the logic behind such a request when the warrant was dated March 29.
The prosecutor argued that the court should focus on the merits of the warrant suspension request instead of favoring Imran Khan. The court has reserved its decision on the matter, and it should be noted that the arrest warrant was issued on March 13 for the non-appearance of Imran Khan in the case of threatening female judge Zeba Chaudhry.
