The Indian Cricket Board has reservations about holding the Asia Cup in Pakistan and does not agree with Pakistan’s proposal to hold the event in two countries.
The official believes that the Asian Cricket Council will not consider this proposal and that holding the event in two countries is not financially feasible as it will increase the budget. The official also questions how Pakistan can play matches in its own country if the budget increases.
According to media reports, the formula of holding the Asia Cup in two countries is being discussed, with Pakistan proposing to hold the Asia Cup in two countries and India’s matches proposed to be played in a country other than Pakistan.
However, the official of the Indian Board has said that the Cricket Board is firm on its decision not to play in Pakistan and that the Asia Cup should be held in either UAE or Qatar, and Pakistan will have to play its matches in one of these two countries.
The ICC has not made any official statement regarding the venue of Pakistan’s matches in the upcoming World Cup, which will be held in India in 2023. However, there have been reports in the media speculating that India may not allow Pakistan to play their matches in India due to political tensions between the two countries.
