The Islamabad High Court extended the interim bail till May 3 while accepting the plea of exemption from attendance in 8 cases registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan under terrorism provisions.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the bail applications of Imran Khan in 8 different cases.
Imran Khan did not appear despite the previous court order and submitted a request for exemption from attendance through lawyers which were accepted by the court.
On behalf of Imran Khan, Faisal Chaudhry, Barrister Gohar, and Advocate Shoaib Shaheen appeared in the court.
Faisal Chaudhry Advocate said that Imran Khan was ready to appear in this court today but he had to appear in Lahore High Court today which is hearing the case of 121 FIRs.

The lawyers pleaded for the extension of Imran Khan’s bail till the first week of May, on which the Chief Justice said, “We are already giving you exceptional relief, you will get the ultimate relief from the Anti-Terrorism Court, don’t embarrass yourself.”
Advocate General Islamabad Barrister Jahangir Jadoon said that I had said in the last hearing that Imran Khan will not come on April 18, security arrangements had been made but he did not appear despite that, he also presented the security SOPs in the court.
The Chief Justice said that these are two separate things, you must have kept the foolproof security of the High Court, but the question is whether his security as a former Prime Minister has been restored or not? The court granted Imran Khan’s request for exemption from attendance today and extended the interim bail till May 3 and said that if Imran Khan does not appear at the next hearing, the bail will be canceled.
