The deadline given by the High Court to Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has passed. The court issued an order yesterday to halt the police operation to apprehend Imran Khan until 10 am today.
Despite the PTI activists’ plea, the court directed the police to stay 500 meters away from Mall Road, Canal Bridge, Dharampura Bridge, and Thandi Road. Seven companies of police and rangers from five districts are now on alert near Zaman Park, awaiting further instructions for the arrest of Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, PTI workers have gathered in larger numbers than before, setting up tents in an open field near Imran Khan’s house and collecting a large stock of sticks, stones, and slingshots after the retreat of the police.

The Lahore High Court has begun hearing the petition against the police operation in Zaman Park. The IG Punjab and Advocate General Punjab were in the court during the hearing. Justice Tariq Saleem Shaikh asked about the petitioner Fawad Chaudhry’s whereabouts, to which his lawyer responded that he was on his way. The court expressed dissatisfaction with the delay, stating that it was already 10 o’clock and the petitioner should be serious about it.
