Muhammad Saeed Wazir expressed remorse over his decision to remove the commandos from their position in Zaman Park Lahore.
The provincial minister had previously ordered the commandos to be removed from their post before the violent clash in the area. This decision was heavily criticized as it led to the loss of precious lives and the deterioration of law and order in the region.
The minister acknowledged his mistake and apologized for the consequences of his actions.

The federal government has removed Muhammad Saeed Wazir from his post as Inspector General (IG) of Gilgit-Baltistan. He was instructed to report to the Establishment Division, and Dar Ali Khattak, a police officer of grade 20 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, has been appointed as his replacement. The new IG has been ordered to withdraw the police from Zaman Park Lahore immediately.
The decision to remove Muhammad Saeed was reportedly due to the issue of deploying commandos, for which he had apologized.
