The federal government has expressed strong reservations and objections to the extraordinary increase in the minimum purchase price of wheat by the Sindh and Punjab governments compared to last year.
However, respecting the decisions of the cabinet of the two provinces, the federal government has taken a principled decision to accept the declared prices and agreed to set a price of 3900 rupees per 40kg for the wheat procurement campaign of the federal department of Pasco.
Apart from this, serious concerns have arisen in business circles after the order of ruthless action against hoarders and profiteers by the Prime Minister to prevent the increase in prices and abundant availability of food items during Ramadan.

Business circles say that if they try to implement their desired prices by ignoring the accurate and verifiable cost of traders, then it will have serious consequences. Still, action must be taken against illegal profiteers and hoarders.
Moreover, yesterday in Lahore, the Food Department seized an illegal flour factory built in Kot Lakhpat Industrial Area.
