  Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandyal says that the Supreme Court is a constitutional institution defamed through audio tapes. We are working with patience and mercy but will protect the constitutional institution.

CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar’s case was heard in the Supreme Court. After withdrawing the application, the court dismissed the appeal against the transfer of Ghulam Mahmood Dogar.

The election commission lawyer said the election schedule was issued after establishing the caretaker government. Our responsibility is to conduct a fair and transparent election under Article 218. It can also transfer an officer with the approval of the Election Commission.

Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandyal said that the authority of the Election Commission is very broad, all political parties should have an equal opportunity in the election, the Election Commission should not give open authority to transfer the caretaker government, such transfers from the caretaker government to the Election Commission.

 It should be asked about sometimes. The words of the Supreme Court need to be understood. In one case, we said there was an honest Prime Minister in 1988, but the Parliament misunderstood our point. We did not say that to date. Only one honest prime minister came.

The Chief Justice said that we had protected the constitutional institutions in our decisions, the judiciary is also being attacked, we will protect the judiciary, the Election Commission is a constitutional institution which the Supreme Court will protect, the Election Commission has powers under the Constitution.

The purpose of this is to conduct transparent elections. If there is malice in the transparent elections, then the Supreme Court will intervene.

The Chief Justice said that the Supreme Court is a constitutional institution being defamed through audio tapes. We will protect the constitutional institution by working patiently and forgivingly. Being patient and forgiving on tape will protect the institution.
