MetaVerified has introduced a blue tick for Facebook and Instagram users. This service will allow Instagram and Facebook users to get the coveted Blue Tick by paying a small fee of just $11.99 per month on the web and $14.99 per month for iPhone users. This service will be available in Australia and New Zealand from this week.
According to the BBC, Meta Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg has announced that the company is launching a new subscription service to improve security and verification on its social media apps. The move follows Twitter owner Elon Musk’s launch of the premium Twitter Blue subscription in November 2022. Meta’s subscription service has yet not to be available to businesses, but anyone interested can pay to get a BlueTick.
Meta said in a post that with this subscription, customers will get a blue badge to show off, the increased reach of their posts, protection from impersonators, and easier access to customer service.
Meta said to the BBC(News) that changing our verification process will not affect pre-verified accounts. Instead, it will open up opportunities for some of our smaller customers as they become verified accounts after payment. In this way, they can increase reach on their page.
