Babar Azam, who is leading the national cricket team, will be honored with Pakistan’s highest civilian award in recognition of his outstanding performance and distinguished service as a captain.
On the occasion of Pakistan Day, national cricket team captain Babar Azam will be honored with the Sitara e Imtiaz. The point to mark is that he will be the youngest player to receive this honor.
Earlier, former Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed was the youngest Pakistani cricketer to receive the Sitara e Imtiaz award.

As Babar Azam is not part of the series against Afghanistan, he will attend the event on March 23.
Before him, only 4 other cricketers have received the Sitara e Imtiaz award for their outstanding sporting achievements, including Mohammad Yousuf in 2011, Saeed Ajmal in 2015, Javed Miandad in 1992, and Inzamam-ul-Haq in 2005.
Notably, four former captains, including Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Shahid Afridi, and Sarfraz Ahmed, were awarded the country’s third-highest civilian honor for their outstanding service in cricket.
