Arrests of PTI workers started in Lahore for violation of Section 144

The arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers in Lahore for violating Section 144 has started. Police are detaining PTI workers from Zaman Park Canal Road. Water cannons and heavy personnel have been deployed near Zaman Park by the police.

It should be noted that Tehreek-e-Insaf has announced a rally in Lahore today. Regarding the rally, Fawad Chaudhry said that the rally would be taken out to express solidarity with the constitution and the judiciary.

On the other hand, Punjab Home Department has imposed Section 144 in Lahore.

According to the notification issued by the provincial interior department, a ban has been imposed on protests, sit-ins and demonstrations in Lahore, which will be implemented from today and will continue for 7 days. According to the notification, the ban has been imposed because of Lahore’s poor traffic and security situation.
