The price of petrol has seen a significant rise of more than 22 rupees, while high-speed diesel and light-speed diesel have both seen increases of 17 rupees to 20 paise.
The public has been hit with yet another inflationary bomb as the federal government has suddenly increased the prices of petroleum products by more than 22 rupees. According to the announcement, the price of petrol went up by 22 rupees 20 paise, high-speed diesel by 17 rupees 20 paise and light-speed diesel by 9 rupees 68 paise.
The price of petrol has increased to Rs 272, while high-speed diesel has become Rs 280. The notification also states that after an increase of 12.90 paise, the price of kerosene rises to Rs 202.73 per litre and light diesel by Rs 9.68 to Rs 196.68 per litre.

According to the notification, an increase in the price of petroleum products was inevitable due to the devaluation of the Rupee.
The government has recently approved a 113% hike in gas rates, which will come into effect from February 16. This gas price increase will surely add to the burden of domestic consumers. The decision to increase the gas price was taken on the advice of the petroleum division, and now there will be 12 slabs of gas for domestic consumers.
The government has been reported to have implemented fixed charges for all domestic gas users, offering a more cost-effective way to manage your energy needs. According to ARY News, protected customers will now pay a fixed charge of Rs.50 per month, while non-protected customers will have to pay Rs.500 per month, regardless of how much gas they use.
